Water is essential for life. The amount of fresh water on Earth is limited, and its quality is under a constant pressure. The preservation of quality of this highly valued resource is important for the supply of drinking water, food production and its recreational use. The water quality and grade can be compromise by infectious agents, toxic chemical products or radiation.
